I downloaded the Grizzly G0555 manual because I'm seriously considering
ordering one. Looking at bandsaw blades it seems that 93 1/2 is much more
common than the 92 1/2 on the Grizzly G0555. For those who own the G0555, is
there enough adjustment in the G0555 to use the more common 93 1/2 blades, or
must I get the folks at Suffolks to make me a 92 1/2 blade?
Also, it seems that while somewhat mixed, most people on this NG from what I
gather like this bandsaw. Anybody have any issues with their G0555 that would
persuade me not to buy this bandsaw?
Thanks in Advance,
Wayne

Don't know why I didn't download the spec sheet (other than I figured the
manual would be of more use). Seems the specs in the manual must be older
than the spec sheet since the manual mentions 92 1/2 and the spec sheet
mentions 93 1/2 and it was updated earlier this year.

Thanks, that's what I've been able to gather from the archives of this group,
but thought I would double check.
Thanks!

Just looked @ website, they list the 93 1/2 both in general info & in specs,
didn't look in manual, so I don't see where you should have any problem.
Most reports on this unit have been pretty good.

It's pretty easy to adjust to fit the 93 1/2 blade. The tensioner has
two collars with set screws. These collars need to be moved to allow
the upper wheel more movement.

Originally, the advertising material said it was a bandsaw for 92 1/2. Griz
will now tell you that it will do anything from that to 93 1/2. The knob
adjustment isn't enough, but there is an adjustment on the back using a
couple of hex keys to move a couple of threaded parts attached to the
adjustment knob that essentially compensates for the difference. I found it
to be a difficult task even when Griz explained how to do it. I have it set
for 93 1/2" blades now and simply intend to keep it that way. If you want,
I can take a couple of pictures of any area on the saw that you wish to see
closer and email them to you.
