That is a fabricated quote. Retract and apologize. He never said those
words, and using that quote is nothing other than a left-wing lie.
And you know what? It wouldn't matter if he did because anybody that thinks
we should have the total focus on catching this one lowlife is shortsighted
and has no idea how to fight this war.
Can you say "Kerry"??

In other words, "the documents are forgeries but we should listen
to what they say anyway"? Haven't we heard that one before
already?

Yes, please do. You'll see that Bush is saying that OBL has been
marginalized and is less important now than he was before, because
he's not in control of a dangerous organization any more.
If Bush had killed OBL and made him a martyr, the Lefties would be
whining that it was a bad move to do that. If Bush had/does capture
OBL, the lefties will be whining that it's an election-year "october
surprise". If OBL continues to be not found (even though he's
ineffective), the lefties will whine that Bush "outsourced the
job and let him get away" (while complaining that in Iraq, we're
not outsourcing _enough_).

How about people that care about this go to the link you provided and see
what's in the stuff you conveniently deleted?

Nice trim there. It's a faked quote made to make Bush look bad. The
_full_ transcript tells the real story, and the faked quote doesn't
characterize it well at all.

That's a bit of a stretch, sorry.

I get it, it's a parody of a troll/conspiracy-nut post.
Trolling, trolling, trolling, keep the thread a going, .....

I have to say something here if for no other reason than I'm personally
insulted by ANY attempt from ANY party to influence my vote in such a
manner. I find in denigrating and by that I mean "to talk down to" for any
of you who by into this rhetoric.
If someone claims to have a priority and two years later claims that is no
longer a priority.. then maybe... just maybe... things have changed. Do we
really want to elect someone who isn't capable or prepared to adjust to
changing situations? Don't get me wrong. It warrants asking why? It isn't
whether or not you've changed but rather why you changed. Sometimes it's
wrong.... but sometimes it's the right thing to do.

I don't much care for non-woodworking posts, especially political
posts. If you are going to make political posts please make them
accurate - the "quote" is NOT verbatim what the president said,
However it DOES paraphrase what he said fairly accurately. In the
press conference the president said that
(i) he doesn't know where he [Bin Laden] is,
(ii) that he is not that concerned with him,
(iii)and that he does not spend that much time on him.
Check the White House website and look at the press conference
for March 2 13,2002. The URL address is
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/20020313-8.html
and the relevant section is about 1/4 of the way down the page.
Q Mr. President, in your speeches now you rarely talk or mention
Osama bin Laden. Why is that? Also, can you tell the American people
if you have any more information, if you know if he is dead or alive?
Final part -- deep in your heart, don't you truly believe that until
you find out if he is dead or alive, you won't really eliminate the
threat of --
THE PRESIDENT: Deep in my heart I know the man is on the run, if he's alive
at all. Who knows if he's hiding in some cave or not; we haven't heard from
him in a long time......(stuff deleted)... So I don't know where he is. You
know, I just don't spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you.
(remainder of response deleted).
Q:But don't you believe that the threat that bin Laden posed won't truly
be eliminated until he is found either dead or alive?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, as I say, we haven't heard much from him. And I
wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure. And,
again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am
not that concerned about him. (remainder of response deleted)
You're all missing the point!
Osama hasn't been heard from since they waged that offensive in the
Pakistani/Afghan mountains, after a "high-profile-target". Osama is in need
of dialysis. He's sitting in the basement of the Pentagon right now, with
an IV of Sodium Pentathol dripping steady. the only one's we've heard from
are his top two lieutenants. Osama is done.
Regardless, the end game is the most important one. Saudi Arabia is the
target. Then the entire region can be deemed safe and without WMDs. China
will handle N.Korea because they owe us so much due to the trade deficit.
When all is said and done, we will announce Fusion Power, which we own
solely and exclusively. Or have you people forgotten about the Apollo
missions. We own the Moon and the Moon is a rich source of He3, the fuel
for fusion engines. When we announce fusion power, oil won't be worth the
barrels it sits in.
That's why we're fighting this war.
If you don't believe me, go to the NASA archives and see just what was found
in the Moon rocks. Remember, Apollo was primarily a geological set of
missions, Apollo 17 being the most thorough.
It doesn't matter who gets elected, because the agenda is in play and it
will continue with whichever puppet is in the oval office. You're arguing
between the Bush's and the Kennedy's. This feud has been going on for a
century. They're both crooked families. They both have committed felonies.
The only difference is that George Sr. was CIa director and has a major
influence in the way the world is going.
In case you guys have forgotten, or neglected history, Bush, Baker and a few
other Texas families were financing Nixon in 1960. Then they killed
Kennedy. Then Nixon stole the evidence. Then he appointed Ford as his
successor. Ford is the only living member of the Warren commission. Fancy
that!
Stop being so naive and arrogant by thinking American government plays by
different rules than the rest of the world. We don't.
So unless you want to close the borders and isolate the USA from the rest of
the world, you had better get behind this war and our troops. You're all
crying about 1000 troops killed while we lost 55,000 in Vietnam for the same
reason, OIL!!!!
[end of rant]
