I built an octagon table of cypress to go between two Adirondack
chairs on the deck. Now, SWMBO thinks maybe she wants to put it in
the living room instead. That's far more gratifying than if I built
it for the living room and she decided to put it outside. But, I
still think it will end up outdoors someday. The rest of our living
room furniture is pretty dark, and the cypress is very blond like
pine, so I'm thinking of staining the cypress, but not putting any
varnish or other sealer over it. Then, if it ever goes outdoors, I
can apply the Cabot barn-red opaque deck stain to make it more or less
match the chairs. Am I messing up? What say ye, finishing experts?

I'm reposting because Google didn't post my question for a full 24
hours and it got lost in the old posts. I know some of you have
answers. Please see my question below.
Thanks
