shop heat

I have a small hobby wood shop and was wondering if there was a way to
use the saw dust and small shavings for heat.

Yes, you can use them for kindling to get a real wood fire started in a wood
burning stove. A pound of wood will give you about 1600 Btu of heat energy.
It will take about 19 pounds of wood to give off the same heat as a small
(30,000 Btu) propane heater in one hour.

To make this a worth while venture, you sure have to crank out a lot of
shavings.

Watch those thinners and chemicals out there though. Don't go POOOOOF ! ! !
