John Carey?
Just a shade too visually oriented, are we?
Also, it would be easier to figure out WTF you were writing about if you
included at least a snippet.

Sorry if I offended you and misspelled John Kerry's name into the bargain. I
feel like something just flew very low over my
head, and I didn't get a glimpse of what it was! I post woodworkig stuff here
and
saw all the effen garbage when I logged
on this fine Sunday morning and thought
of Kerry and his effen speech, and
couldn't resist tying them together.
If its the offtopic-ness that offends
you, I apologise. (decompressed smiley face) Just to improve my vocabulary
though, what's a snippet?

It's a bit you snip and post to give the sense of what you're replying to. Your
post popped up with no reference points, which makes it a bit hard to
interpret, especially since we're in our monthly obscene post moon phase. I
didn't know school was out, but from the garbage posting (not yours), it does
seem someone is getting a lot of snow days or mommy or daddy has gone out of
town for the weekend.

You're kidding? I've never seen their posts.
Effective filtering saves worry.
But I'm not sure the little pus sacks are hairless.

I sure hope that's it, or else someone got out of the home for the
weekend. I would hate to think that there is someone out there spewing
this stuff who has not had the benefit of modern (or classical)
psychological help. :-\

Charlie...your filter is working very well. The same old remailing moron had
a spat of posting more of his explicit fantasies. That's what Bub was

Ah. I apologize to Bub then. Twit filters are great things, no matter the
degree of twittery. I am fair to middling tired of obnoxious children, so it's
nice to know I see very few of them.
Thanks.

Damned AOL won't let me copy the whole list at one time. One at a time, same
way I added them.
Sorry. Most of it was just cusswords and cussword twists. And I keep adding
each time a new one crops up.
Also, I've taken to filtering out domains like .ru and such where the only
contribution seems to be obscene posts from some international buttholes...or
people who are remailing through those domains.

Click on Edit | Configuration, then look at the checkboxes on the General tab.
There needs to be a checkmark next to "Enable regular expressions" for these
to work.

Yep, it went away. Check the FAQ -- Robert Bonomi is hosting a copy of it.

Hey, Bridger, I just emailed you the filters from my file that caught all of
these posts. I didn't post them here, because they're filtering on the subject
line, and thus they're almost as gross as the posts they're killing.
Anyone else who wants copies? Email me at filterinfo/at/milmac/dot/com .

I'm running nfilter with the supplied set of filters from Robert
Bonomi. this last set of troll posts came through, so I'm looking for
the right filtering combo to cut them out.
if you have that, and want to email them to me, I'll post them to the

You must mean John "I just learned a new swearword" Kerry, then next
candidate to loose to Dubya!

I found this thread just after I applied filters to rid me of most of the
crap. I am using Xnews and just started filtering on subject and also on
poster name using THOSE objectionable words. Certainly made the thread
subjects easier to look through.

Sorry, I'm missing some context here. Did Kerry recently give a vulgar speech?
