Imposter alert: A miscreant has appropriated my screen name.

You all know I don't post filth, so when you see my screen name used for
perversion, you know it is an imposter. Please ignore the moron.

:-)

The way my filters work, the handle used is irrelevant, it works on other
attributes that aren't as easy to duplicate. For instance, although Theo
(aka JOAT aka J T aka T) has changed his handle a number of times recently I
still have him highlighted.

First, this trick is no substitute for nFilter. nFilter does not replace OE
but supplements it by removing the trash as it arrives.

For OE, if you hit a limit to entries, simply create another rule with the
same parameters and continue entering names.

As for batch mode, no. Once the work is done though , you only need to add a
few at a time thereafter.

Note that I do not use this as a friends file just a verification file.
After this rule runs, I have another rule that puts a different colour on
"friends" after the first rule has been applied.

The POS (not the BAD) is posting from a remailer called "dizum.com".
According to their website:

dizum.com operates both a remailer (a system which automatically anonymizes
and forwards e-mail) and a mail2news gateway (a system that forwards e-mail
to usenet). As such it serves an important purpose for many of its users who
could not otherwise express themselves freely, or who need to discuss
sensitive personal topics.

Want to post it as abuse? Good luck.... their website basically states that
they are not responsible for anything.

I'm not sure that anyone in wrecked wood needs to hide their identity this
way so I am blocking all postings from this slime pit. Though I'm sure
that these freaks move from one slime pit to another.

This sounds like a good trick and I tried it with OE6 and found what
seems to be either a line or character limit to how many entries can
be made to a filter rule. Is this the case or am I doing something wrong?

Also, entering people one at a time is a hassle. Is there any way to do
it in a batch mode?

I'm running Nfilter and agree with you completely on this.

OE seems to accept my entries when creating/modifying the rule
but in execution only the first 9 names (~350 characters) will trigger
the rule. I found out that the rules are stored in the registry and it
has a 16KB max limit on data in values.

Do you know if OE has a smaller limit? If it doesn't, any ideas on
what could be wrong?

I kinda suspected batching wouldn't work when I discovered the
registry thing.

This isn't the first instance of a name being misappropriated by a troll.

In this instance I knew that either it was an impostor or BAD had changed
ISPs. To avoid this issue I have a 'regulars rule' in OE set to prove normal
posters are who they say they are. When you identify a regular likely to be
copied, add them to the regulars file and set it to change the colour of the
header. Later, if you see a post that has not changed colour you can just
delete it. You don't have to put up with the cr*p.

I assume other newsreaders have a similar feature.

I was going to say, "No shit", but I thought maybe your ass is a little chapped
(oops, there I go again) about this. Don't worry; I knew the second I clicked
on the link you hadn't posted it.

Unless the regular changes his handle, like a certain Strine I know. I
had "Groggy" in my watch list, but I almost missed your recent posts.
And Eisan went & did the same thing too.

BTW, I didn't get to see the troll birth picture posts, my filters
worked.
