Beauty and the Beast

Ok, I just happened to be visiting some friends of mine who had Beauty
and the Beast playing on their DVD player. They have a 4-year old son
who finds this movie very fascinating. In fact, he gets up and dances
like Gaston during the bar scene.

I've got a problem with this movie. This old woman shows up at the
Prince's castle and demands shelter. The Prince refuses. She turns him
into the Beast and says that he will be freed him only if he learns to
love and be loved.

This is crap. The Prince didn't owe the old lady a damn thing, but she
showed up and violated his rights like it was an afterthought. Then,
she basically tells him in order to regain his freedom to be just as
God made him, he must modify his behavior. And everybody accepts this.

Basically, the old woman is the Democrat and the Prince is the evil
Republican who becomes unfairly targeted by the witch (the state). I
see this movie for what it is. A piece of PC garbage. They even make
sure that Gaston (the American soldier) is killed for good measure. On
top of that, the whole damn thing is set in France and the two
Frenchmen, Lumiere and Cogsworth, spend the entire film healing
themselves from various abuses, presumably with special powers.

Ms. Potts and Chip represent minorities. They are constantly being
worked to death and demeaned. Chip is broken, but he still manages to
go rescue Belle by driving a horse-drawn carriage. Sort of a Harriet
Tubman figure.

I told both of my friends about this and all they did was look at me
crazy and pick up their child. Then the man pushed me out the door and
told me to "rapture myself" out of sight. What a bully. Am I not the
only one who sees the whoring Disney aligning itself with the forces
of evil and homosexuality? Wake up people.

No need to shout. People turn off shouts, inside. Why do you need to
shout?
No need to call names. We call names when we do not have enough information
to be helpful. How do these names apply to you?
No need for a Psychologist to bind someone with chemicals.
Jesus, having redeemed both the heathen and believer from the law and
legalism, would not run thou shall nots on anyone. Jesus is the one that
understands and loves all.

Beauty and the Beast is a folk story, that comes out of our common themes in
our unconsious.

I had never considered the parallels to Democrats and Republicans?
Interesting thought, thanks. See comments in your comments.

I just see the Democrats as the feminine side that is concerned with
nurturing and The Republicans as the masculine side concerned with
protection. At their highest levels, nurturing and protection, are not in
opposition. Nurturing is protection and protection allows nurturing. It is
just at the lower levels, that these parties and what they represent can not
find common grounds. Is that not like a marriage?

Sure, it is not fair, life is like that. But, the prince had the
opportunity
to treat the old woman like Jesus was asleep in her and treat her with
respect, even when she did not treat him with respect.

At a deep level we do, since the Beast is our story.

PC can go too far, because stuffing expression will only lead to that which
is repressed being expressed somehow. The Prince was targeted like with the
ghosts of christmas past, present and future. Become a comic and then there
are no PC's.

Why do you see evil and not the good that triumphs? What is you issue with
homosexuality? How does that threaten you? See:

Get a grip on yourself. It's a child's fairy tale. You are projecting your
own mythology onto a fairy tale.

Good point.

Wow, I never thought of it that way. You're right. The Democrats are
the nurturers (women) and the Republicans are protectors (women). I
guess the Democrats are useful then, to a degree. As long as everyone
realizes that in the end, a man's word is final. This is true both at
home, and apparently now, in public policy.

I would add that some people cannot tell the difference between PC and
common courtesy, in my opinion.

It's not a matter of feeling threatened. It's just trying to orient
the wrong-minded in a better direction.

Take a look above the slash on that key to the right side of your
keyboard. A world of interrogative communication awaits your feverish,
trembling hands.

I think my IQ actually dropped a few points reading this sentence. I
could feel my medulla oblongata actually hiccup once or twice.

What? That was ugly, man. A 5-word pileup preceding something that
appeared to resemble a noun.

The body is a temple. I don't cotton to all those crazy drugs anyway.

I am sure that in his day, Jesus was considered quite the spammer.

You claim to be wrapped in the robe and washed in the blood, but you
seem to be very selective of what you wish to believe.
Jewish law and lore commands us to give care and shelter to strangers,
as a christian you are subject to these laws. The prince should be
cursed! So should you! I imagine if I were to come to your house and
spend some time there, we could find "some flaws" in the way you live.
Then I could come here and show all the world what an idiot you
are........ oh wait, you just did that for me!!!!!!!
