You really need to do some basic research on your own. between
this post and your "how to use a hand plane?" post, you've covered
almost the entire subject of planes. PLEASE got to
www.supertool.com and read through the entire website. All of
it. After than take a look at Jeff Gorman's website,
http://www.millard.demon.co.uk/index.htm
One will teach you what the differrent planes are, the other, how
to use them. This will take some time, but learning always does.
Using planes can be joyful or aggravting and the difference lies
in using the right plane the right way. You're just going to have
to do the grunt work of learning it yourself. Sorry.

A hand plane is a plane used by hand -- essentially a sharp blade held
rigidly in a base which is flat, and allows the blade to extend below the
base by a fixed amount.

These cover anything from an extremely small plane to ones
two feet long. A block plane is a small hand plane, usualy about five
inches long.
