The Associated Press is reporting the death of another West Texas soldier.
Andrew Perkins, 27, was born in Lubbock, and graduated from Amarillo High
School in 1998. Perkins was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and
stationed out of Fort Bragg.
The military says he and six others were killed by an IED north of Baghdad
Monday. The U.S. Department of Defense has yet to confirm Perkins' death.

Look, I'm with you in regard to this stupid, pointless war but you're
not going to shave a single day off its duration by flooding this
group with news bulletins. If he was reasonably competent, then Andrew
Perkins understood the risks. If you give the government an army, then
it's going to use it. Whether it's a Republican and Democratic
administration, soldiers are going to get killed in back water regions
for butt stupid reasons and there's NOTHING you can do in this group
to change that.

Hey, guys: Andrew is my brother and this is not what we talked
about. Regardless of what the poloticians did we still signed up for
the fight. He would not want us all fighting about this stuff and
