warning lables

They’ve been talked about here, especially the dumb ones, but I have one that
is really needed.

On the hood of every car there should be a label that says

WARNING DEAD CAT MAYBE INSIDE

I think that says it all.

More to the topic of woodworking.

Had a mouse set up housekeeping in the dust collection tube on my JET
belt/disc sander. S/he was home when I attached the collector. Lucky I
have a chip drop prior to the impeller.

What a mess that would have been. Reminds me of a tale I heard many years
ago--and a possible inducement for manufacturers adding inside latches for
hoods. Someone was reputed to have been unhappy with a car dealer's treatment
of him. Somehow got a dead skunk, placed it in a plastic bag and deposited it
on top a loaner car engine one night. When that bag melted....

They should warn you about critters getting in to the house through your
dryer vent. Had a bird come in that way, got himself stuck in the blower
housing of the dryer and died. Took about a week of increasingly bad smell
in the laundry room before we localized the odor, took apart the dryer, and
found him.
