Mebbe itz just me. Probably.
Had 1 7/8" square legs, 35" long. Wanted the taper to start 4" from the top
and end up with the final leg thickness of 1". Tapering on two sides only.
Built my own jig - but it seems like it was going to cost me a ton of Poplar
test legs getting it set up right.
Balancing the start of the taper (4" down) and the final width (1").
Move one and the other moved too. Couldn't figure out (with the limited
amount of Poplar I had) how to work those two and the fence distance.
Any tiplets out there?

With TS not running...
- Rasie blade a few inches
- Push fence over until it lightly rests against blade.
- Lower blade
- Draw pencil line along across entire table top using fence edge as
guide
- Move fence away and now you have a line on the table establishing
inside edge of blade
- Lay leg blank on table and align with line at each end, create
extension if leg is too long
- Clamp leg in place
- Place loose jig next to leg
- Push fence over until jig adjust and bottoms out.
- Lock down jig and fence
- Optional: move fence back out about 1/4" and do test cuts, bumping
fence in each time and sneak up on perfect location.
Draw a line on the upper end of the leg where the cut should start, put the
leg in the jig and approximate the angle of the jig and the fence setting,
slide the leg up to set the infeed side, and then lift the assembly and
slide the jig past the blade and set the outfeed side. Move the fence, a
little, and keep adjusting.
You don't need to make the cuts to set the jig.

I don't know exactly the type of jig you've set up, but here's what I do.
Lay out the taper on the stock and place in jig. Slide jig up against the
fence and adjust angle of jig until marked line is parallel to fence. Lock
piece in jig. Slide fence to starting position and make the cut.
