I needed a pipe fitting that the home centers didn't have so I decided to
try Sears Hardware. I haven't been to one in a long time. I noticed they
remodelled, added anti-shoplifting cabinets, added lots of appliances, but
kept the bare concrete "basement" look (no doubt to impress female buyers
who make most of the decisions on appliance purchases).
Anyway, Freud router bits and Milwaukee jigsaw blades, sawzall blades, hole
saws, and masonry bits were on clearance for 50% off.
The bits mostly had 1/4" shanks, but there were some 1/2" and some solid
carbide. The common shapes (straight, roundover, chamfer, etc.) were there,
but not the more obscure shapes. The hole saws and masonry bits were
standard sizes. Only less common blades were left (super thin, super long,
etc.). At least this was true of the store I went to. YMMV.
I guess they're making room for more Crapsman. Who needs Freud and
Milwaukee when you've got Crapsman.
