http://www.lowes.com/lkn?action=howTo&p=Build/WindowSeat This is OK,
but kinda blah to my mind. It did give me an inspiration tho.
My thought is, a seat, based on a sleigh bed, with backrests on
each end. The base is a chest, with the upholstered seat lifting open.
Of, course, you could also have drawers, or doors on it, but I think I
like the chest version. With the two backrests, two close friends could
share it, facing each other. Or, use a pillow(s), and rest your feet on
the other end. I think a natural wood finish, or maye some light stain.
I don't really see it as painted, but it would probabl look OK. Maybe
slightly lower than the window sill, so you could use it as an elbow
rest, set a drink, etc. You could also put it away from a window, but I
see it as a window seat.
You're perfectly to use my version, just don't tell people you
thought of it, or make up your own.
