Book for a self making Noobie

What would be the definitive starting book for a person who wants to
build a cabinet to store DVDs. I'm not looking for anything complex
just a simple pine Ikea-type cabinet.

would you help to point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Gord

Try an Ikea catalogue. Seriously. Catalogues and furniture books are
where I get my ideas from. And then I just adjust the size to suit my
desires.

Well, I'm obviously not understanding the question as asked.

Do you want a book on basic woodworking? On cabinet making? On a
dedicated DVD cabinet?

Just stacking mine on an open shelf makes me happy. So, unless
you're actually asking for someone to choose a design for you, I'd say
look at cabinets, and pick whatever makes you happy.

Didn't recognize you, so decided to check. You only show up once.
You're not the troll in his latest reincarnation, are you? Because, if
you are, I gotta say, I gave up reading your posts long ago, no
entertainment value there at all. You're just so terribly boring, but I
can't say if that's from being a twerp, so inarticulate, juvenile,
silly, or a combination. And, if you're not, I'm sure someone here will
apologize to you.

Don't really need a book. Get some paper and draw up some designs you
like. Cabinets may be a little more challenging than a simple case.
Look at some of the DVD cases in the stores to get some ideas. I
store my CDs and DVDs in a divided drawers which works nicely to keep
them out of sight, clean, and protected.
