providing an example killfile syntax.

There are many people who don't understand how Usenet's internals
work, and your question apparently can be interpreted at least

Actually he could, but it's complicated and not reliable, depending on
many things.

Why take an attitude with me? I saw a statement from you which I
(and apparently others) interpreted in a way you did not intend,
and I responded according to what I thought you were asking.

One goal of a troll is to get the legitimate posters fighting
with each other. I'm not going to feed it by doing so.

google, and many one-time users who might be helpful use google to

Sigh. I was just trying not to be overly pedantic. Anyway, yes it is
possible, but I doubt the OP could accomplish it since it requires a
huge amount of support, politically. About the only thing to get through

Ok, point taken. I was a little irritated :) I haven't seen any other

I was baffled by this reply for a while. But then it occurred to me that
you think I do not understand it at all. Given the number of people who
don't really understand usenet, I suppose this is fair, but you should
give people a little more credit for thinking.

I didn't say he was doing it for me. Obviously he is not, and cannot.

However, he is a respected poster among many hear and lots of people
will use his recommendation; after all, it is a recommendation (albiet
with a caveat emptor). I was pointing out that there are valid uses to
using google to post in way of providing a counterpoint.

He is also recommending it. The FAQ is good, I just take issue with that
recommendation. If good posters get blocked, the trolls have won.
