Cherry gloat and question

About eight years ago my sister had a large cherry tree cut out of the yard.
they thought it was rotten and were just going to cut it for firewood. But
the arborist they hired made one cut and determined that the base was sound
so he called for a boom truck and they carefully topped it then brought the
trunk down softly. the result so far has been a cherry entertainment center
and a large poker table. They hired these two jobs out and are happy. Now
the gloat is that I get the rest. I plan to make a bedroom set to replace
the pine set I made for the LOML and there is enough cherry in the pile to
give me much of what I need. I looked at the pile and told my b-i-l that I
could see a dresser and headboard in the pile. The wood is in Indiana and
I live in BC but we are attending a 50th for the folks this summer. My
B-I-L will bring to the party and I will bring from there. Now the question
for the group: I live in canada and will need to bring this across the
border. have any of you every tired to bring wood from the US into Canada?
I will call the border with this question but thought maybe one of you wise
and learned wooddorkers may have the answer.
TIA

There are US Customs laws that require that all woods shipped into
Canada to be held in quarrintine for several years in Central Florida.
It has to do with NAFTA and the 2000 election problems in Florida. I
have a facility that can help you. We really like our northern
friends.

Let me know if I can help.
