Should I Buy RBI VS 220 Scroll Saw

Have been offered a chance to buy an RBI vs 220 scroll saw for $300. It
appears in good condition and has an assortment of blades.

If I was going to spring for a new saw in this class, I think I'd lean
toward the Hegner, but this seems like almost too good a deal to pass up.

One of these is about $1100 new. I don't know if there have been
significant changes over the years.

Anyone have experience with this saw or brand?

Many thanks for any advice you can offer.

Dave

I was looking at getting the Hegner, RBI saws myself recently, but then ran
into a used PS Wood 21-in model and saved a bunch of money. Unfortunately
I've never seen any comparisons between the three, nor had the opportunity to
get my hands on any of the larger scroll saws in person. Anybody here looked
at these three side by side? What are their thoughts on them?

I've had one of those for about 4 years and it's a great saw. If it were
me, I'd grab it quick. I chose this brand over Hegner because it's made
over by Kansas City, MO and I buy local(USA made) if at all possible.

I inherited one from my Dad who past away 8 years ago. He had it about 5
years with no problems. I've used it for many, many hours without problems.
A real nice scrollsaw to work (play) with. At that price go for it, one of
the best on the market.
Just my 2 cents,
