Did you hear about the old Saskatchewan farmer who finally visited BC
and the Rockies. When he came home, they asked him how he liked it.
"It was OK," he replied. "But," asked other people, "didn't you enjoy
the scenery?" The old man replied: "Couldn't see anything, the darned
mountains kept on getting in the way."

I'm happy to note that I don't recognize most of the top threads. Killing
crossposts is definitely the way to go.

Sure is. But I had to remove Nfilter due to sunspot screwups.
I had trouble downloading all news all day and it came in like
clockwork with the news proxy gone. Vurry stwange.
So, does anyone see the Northern Lights which were said to be
really bright tonight? WeeGee? Davey? Anyone?

Looking Northward might get more results.

I run my own news server, and I'm doing it at that level. I have the
fetchnews program configured to ignore anything crossposted to more than
two groups, and then I go through and kill a few twits here and there.
Works pretty well.

Northern lights? Nope. I almost never go outside after dark, even though I
typically stay up until 4:00 AM. I might not live far enough north to see
them anyway, or can't see them for the haze or something.
The air has been exceptionally clear here lately though. Coming up from
North Carolina, I spotted this really odd thing way off in the distance.
Eventually I realized it was a truck winding up the side of the mountain
about 30 miles away.

Why do you say that? The information that he cut and pasted is just a single
click away and is compiled automatically. He even posted the link to it.
Check it out. See what you have posted.

Why? Those same people already publically posted them in the very same
group.
Look, you just posted yours (if it is real and not a fake address like
mine). Even Microsoft advises people using their newsserver not to use a
real address anymore.

And there's a mounTAIN north of my little valley.
Yeah, your clouds might also slow the visuals down.

BTW, if you were referring to Davey E. & not Davey B., he's in London
Ontario, which is at about 43 degrees North latitude, approximately
the same as Grant's Pass, if I am not mistaken.

Hmm, I have stars, you have rain, and Silvy has trucks.
It WAS a weird day.
