DoD Identifies Marine Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine
who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Lance Cpl. Philip J. Martini, 24, of Lansing, Ill., died April
8, of a gunshot wound while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar
Province, Iraq. Martini was assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment,
1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
